HHI Crew is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization located on Hilton Head Island and operated under the umbrella of the Palmetto Rowing Club. HHI Crew introduces high school age students to the sport of rowing.

Rowing was a club sport at HHIHS from 1995 – 2005 and was reintroduced in the Hilton Head Island area in 2007 when a group of five community individuals decided to use the equipment and facilities that had been left when the original rowing club disbanded. Since then the Club has grown each season in numbers and in skill.

HHI Crew operates from the New Rowing and Sailing Center at Skull Creek off of Squire Pope Rd. Many students have found rowing to be the perfect physical activity and several have found it to be a rewarding competitive experience. The Club provides an outlet for countless high school students from Hilton Head Island to try the sport and compete in events throughout the southeast. Several students have received athletic scholarship offers in rowing and many more will find it to be the activity on their transcripts which will allow them to attend some of the most prestigious universities in the country.

Hilton Head Island is an exceptional location for rowing. Year round weather and water conditions combined with miles of unobstructed waterways gives our town the distinct advantage for hosting a rowing community.
