The Season will run August 25 - December 31 and will be broken into fall rowing and winter training. We will offer a varsity and a recreational program.
Varsity
Fall rowing August 25 - November 8. We will row:
4:30 - 7:00 (or until dark) Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
4:30 - 6:00 Fridays
No weekend rowing outside of regatta weekends
*If we have a contingent of rowers who arrive earlier, we can begin practice closer to 4pm for those that are there, and may be able to break up opening and closing duties to even out responsibility and practice time
Fall regatta schedule
10/11 First Coast Head Race, Jacksonville FL
*11/1 - 11/2 Head of the Hooch, Chattanooga TN. This is by far our largest fall regatta.
11/8 Head of the South, Augusta GA
*Understanding that the travel date for Head of the Hooch coincides with Halloween and that weekend coincides with Hilton Head Island High School social events, we may consider not attending this regatta. High Point Autumn Rowing Festival, High Point, NC on 10/5 is an additional regatta that we will consider, in place of Head of the Hooch, or in addition to, depending on interest and availability.
Please reach out to Coach Chuck if you are planning to race this season and are not able to travel for any of these four regattas.
Winter training November 9 - December 31. We will train at the boathouse 4:30 - 6:00 Tuesdays and Thursdays. These will be land workouts.
Fees will be $700 and will include fall rowing and winter training
Recreational
Fall rowing August 25 - November 8. We will row:
4:30 - 7:00 (or until dark) Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
* Potential for 4pm start time, as mentioned above for Varsity, also applies to Recreational Rowers
No Friday or weekend rowing
No travel or racing
Practices will be less formal and will focus on teaching rowing technique instead of race training
Winter training November 9 - December 31. We will offer optional training at the boathouse 4:30 - 6:00 Tuesdays and Thursdays. These will be land workouts.
Fees will be $400 and will include fall rowing and optional winter training
